Power House Energy Consulting was founded under the premise that all buildings should be comfortable, healthy, and energy efficient. By working locally in the New England region, we provide a deep understanding of current and future energy policies and best practices for energy efficient residential construction in our climate.

The IntelloX airbarrier was wonderfully detailed including an added on attic bump up box and many small ERV duct run bump ups into the attic plans (forget the technical term for these) . The thing about the crews that do the best work , is that they are chill, kind, engaged, and open to learning at all times . Another thing here is that the casement Pella windows are good , but not quite to the same standard as the rest of the enclosure . Yet they were installed flawlessly and did not leak air . Oh and Iver next to The small Taco is a gem that is making me consider selling a bike for . $7k, no rust ! #buildingscience #buildenergysmart

Balanced ventilation is super great ! But those HRV/ERVs need to be maintained. Clean those inside filters but check outside too. I Turned up the system during Quebec Smog week and it’s took a brief look at the exterior ports. Build tight , ventilate right, and maintain every few fortnights ! #balancedventilation #buildingscience

Via PWRView app. Take away is cooling , dehumidification , and healthy indoor air is not expensive to run ! First time in cooling mode and my summer is already looking less clammy. #electrifyeverything
Passive House midpoint airtightness diagnostics can get a little quirky. Chasing leaks in the @ikonwindows corners. Killed the cfm/sq ft requirement, even at around 0.8 ACH50. Long house , lots of enclosure surface area . Was fun hanging with this team today.

This is why you test before insulating. This is why you aim high and verify . The mechanicals are getting uniquely simple on this project - future post on that.
